Once again the 2023 Lights on the Lake Community Festival was a huge success. The event was held on 3 December 2023 in Crummunda park, Coongarra Esp, Wurtulla on the banks of our beautiful Lake Currimundi. The weather smiled on us. The crowds flocked to the park and seemed to have a wonderful time. A variety of entertainers performed for us. Almost 400 children worked on arts and crafts projects, visited the Council Discovery van, Turtlecare and Sea Life exhibits. People tried their hand on African drums in the drumming circle. Santa arrived across the Lake with the help of Caloundra Coast Guard volunteers. Kayaks and canoes adorned with Christmas decorations and lights paraded around the Lake at dusk. We finished the evening with a spectacular laser light show.

The event aims to engage the local community in a variety of activities in a family-friendly, sustainable and fun event to celebrate our wonderful environment and the festive season and we did that in style.

Thank you to all of the volunteers, entertainers and visitors who made our event such a friendly and fun festival.

We have already set a date for the 2024 event – Sunday 8 December 2024, 4.00 – 8.00 pm at the same location.
