SUMMARY:Working bee
DESCRIPTION:\nCurrimundi Catchment Care Group hosts a monthly working bee on the second Saturday afternoon of the month. The location varies from month to month but may be any park or natural area within the Currimundi Catchment. The aim of the working bees is to remove invasive weed plants and unsuitable garden escapees from these areas and encourage natives to thrive in their place. We will sometimes plant natives in suitable areas as well. This in turn will provide food and shelter for native birds and wildlife. Details of each event will be added a week or so before each event. We can also add you to a working bee update email list and you will be notified of each event -email cccginfo@currimundicatchment.org.au ( mailto:cccginfo@currimundicatchment.org.au ) .\n\n\n\nLocation:  Noel Burns Park, WurtullaMeet in the BBQ area opposite 5 Mulloka Esplanade\n\n\n\n\n\nThis month we will be targeting Corky’s Passion Vine and other invasive weeds that are threatening to choke out natives along the Lake bank.\n\n\n\nEveryone is welcome to join us. The work will suit most peoples of all levels of fitness and age. Children must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. We have a mix of regulars and people who just turn up when they can. Please wear long sleeves and pants and closed-in shoes for your protection. We also recommend a hat and water bottle. Gloves and tools supplied.\n\n\n\nThe working bees are operated under the Sunshine Coast Council Bushcare volunteer conservation program. Before participating for the first time you will be required to register and complete a safety induction (both simple processes). Gloves and  tools are provided. During the COVID-19 restrictions, you will be required to abide by social distancing rules at the event.  There is also currently a maximum of 20 participants.\n
